Donuts & Books Make a Perfect Weekend!
It was one of those days when I just don't know how I'm gonna spend my weekend. I wanted to just stay home because lately, I preferred spending the weekends just resting at home. I always felt exhausted from work. I needed the weekend to rejuvenate myself for another workweek.
Since last week, my back hurt like hell. Last night, I found it very difficult to sleep because I felt really tired. At some point, I thought maybe I have a back cancer or something (thank you John Green). When I woke up Saturday morning, I still don't feel well so I wanted to just stay indoors.
I picked the guitar up but I just couldn't get myself into it. (Last year I bought a guitar to try to make myself learn a new skill. I tried learning how to play it, but I find it difficult so I put the instrument aside and let it collect dust. Now everytime I get it out of its case and try playing it, I just don't feel like doing it anymore. I'd rather sit infront of this dump laptop and type nonsense things and spend hours in the Internet.
When I couldn't get myself into watching movies either, I decided to get my ass out and buy stitching materials instead. Here I am again, wanting to start another thing just that I will just ditch when I' halfway through it or when I find another thing to do.
But just after breakfast, it started to rain. So I'll have to stay at home anyway. When the rain stopped though, I went to the mall, only to be disappointed because the shop I was looking for was already closed. I decided to try another mall, but the shop was no longer there, too. I walked the four floors of the building. When I passed by a donuts shop, I bought some for take out (some is two boxes). Because they've a promo. I didn't know how I'm gonna finish all of 'em but I bought 2 boxes anyway.
Earlier, while I'm on my way to the first mall (Robinson's Manila), I was kind of hoping I would find that person selling second hand books infront of UP Manila, but he/they weren't there. I forgot that there are other people selling books infront of Manila City Hall. So when I saw the vendor on the street, I checked out the books. There were lots of good ones but I gave myself time to think if I'm buying because lately, I've been too lazy to read. That time was spent walking around SM. In the end, I reckoned it's a good deal to spend 500 bucks on a couple of books that I don't always find in bookstores, so I bought these.
This morning I was reading this article on Jared Leto, and Sun Tzu's The Art of War was mentioned. Naturally, when I spotted the book in the bargain, I immediately took it. Along with Atonement, because I love the movie. These two books cost me P350. Sulit na ba?
I was supposed to spend the weekend in Baguio, but I didn't go for financial reasons. I was restricting myself to buy books because I still got lots of unread books, but I can't deny the fact that I always feel better whenever I acquire new books.
